The nature of the work in celestial mechanics is best illustrated by the two most recent publications.
The first one, Non-integrability of the planar elliptic restricted three-body problem, presents the solution to one of the oldest problems related to the classical model of celestial mechanics.
The second paper, Destructive relativity, was distinguished as an 'Editor’s Pick'. It demonstrates that the inclusion of relativistic effects in classical models causes the evolution of even the simplest of them to cease being regular and instead exhibit chaotic behavior.
