My area of scientific research is in the field of Astronomy, particularly pulsar astrophysics. I am interested in understanding the physical processes that lead to the radio emission in pulsars. In this regard I conduct observations with leading radio Telescopes as well as carry out theoretical modeling to understand the different emission processes. Along with my colleagues we have carried out one of the largest studies of single pulse emission from the pulsar population. In
addition we have also developed a new and physically consistent model of the sparking process above the pulsar polar cap region which is responsible for the outflowing plasma in the magnetosphere. This model has been successfully applied to reproduce the unique behaviour of subpulse drifting observed in certain pulsars.
