This coming Sunday, we will learn the names of the winners of this year's Astronomy Olympiad. For the 68th time, young astronomy enthusiasts from all over Poland will gather in Chorzów to solve data analysis, observational, and theoretical problems. In addition to open-sky observations, students will conduct observations using the state-of-the-art equipment available at the planetarium, capable of taking them even to distant corners of the universe.
Winners of the 68th Astronomy Olympiad will represent Poland at the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, scheduled for August in Mumbai, India.
The Olympiad is under the patronage of the University of Zielona Góra. The Institute of Astronomy named after Prof. Janusz Gil is sponsoring some of the prizes in the finals.
