LOFAR network

European Radio Astronomy System.

An international network of innovative radio telescopes, comprising observation stations in the Netherlands (core), Germany, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. Currently, three stations are operating in Poland: Łazy (near Kraków), Bałdy (near Olsztyn), and Borówiec (near Kórnik/Poznań). The Janusz Gil Institute of Astronomy closely collaborates with Jagiellonian University, jointly conducting radio observations of PULSARS at the Łazy station. Through collaboration with the Computing Center of the University of Zielona Góra, we have built a set of high-performance servers connected via a dedicated fiber-optic link to the radio telescope in Łazy. Each week, we record up to 40 hours of observations, gradually accumulating processed data from several dozen pulsars.
